NCAA Football Rankings, Week 9: Mountaineers drop to No. 25

West Virginia fell from 17th to 25th in this week's AP Top 25 poll.

After two consecutive losses, the West Virginia Mountaineers are on the verge of being knocked out of the AP Top 25 poll.

The Mountaineers came in at No. 25 this week. They lost to No. 4 Kansas State on Saturday, 55-14. Last week, West Virginia lost to unranked Texas Tech, 49-14. West Virginia was ranked 17th last week.

Alabama remains on top of the poll. Oregon, Florida, Kansas State and Notre Dame round out the top five.

Penn State received 18 votes, behind Toledo (49), Texas (33), Wisconsin (31), TCU (29) and Nebraska (24).
