Following its 48-45 win against then No. 11 Texas, West Virginia is now tied for the Big 12 lead at 2-0 in conference play.
The Mountaineers are tied with Kansas State, the only other undefeated team remaining in the conference. West Virginia will host Kansas State in two weeks, in a game which could end up being a deciding factor in the conference race.
Behind West Virginia and Kansas State, there are five teams tied for third place with 1-1 conference records. That group includes the Mountaineers' next opponent, Texas Tech. West Virginia currently leads the conference in points scored with 260, but is last in points allowed with 175.
