West Virginia trounced Marist 87-44 on Thanksgiving Day in the first round of the Old Spice Classic in Florida.
The Mountaineers will now play Davidson at 12:30 on Friday.
Against Marist, WVU got 15 points from Eron Harris and 14 from Terry Henderson. 11 players played at least 12 minutes in the game, which quickly became a blowout -- the Mountaineers went berserk in the last 10 minutes of the first half and headed to the locker room with a 51-19 advantage. In addition to Harris and Henderson, Jabarie Hinds, Matt Humphrey and Aaric Murray also scored in double figures.
Davidson, meanwhile, beat Vanderbilt 75-62 to advance to face the Mountaineers. De'Mon Brooks had 19 points and six rebounds in the victory for the Wildcats.
Elsewhere in the Old Spice Classic, No. 17 Gonzaga defeated Clemson, and Oklahoma beat UTEP. If the Mountaineers can beat Davidson, they'll face the Gonzaga / Oklahoma winner on Sunday.
