The West Virginia Mountaineers are set to host the Oakland Golden Grizzlies on Wednesday night at the WVU Coliseum, hoping to snap their two-game losing streak.
It's been a rough season for Bob Huggins and the Mountaineers to this point, who have a 4-5 record in their first campaign as members of the Big 12.
West Virginia is still looking for its first signature win of 2012, losing to the only two ranked teams its seen in the Michigan Wolverines and Gonzaga Bulldogs. (The Mountaineers did, however, beat an undefeated Virginia Tech squad two weeks ago.)
Huggins's team has been a offensive disaster, shooting 38.9 percent from the field, ranking them 318th in the nation. West Virginia's leading scorer is sophomore guard Juwan Staten, who is averaging only 10.8 points per game.
The Mountaineers have a few more games to get their act together before playing their first conference game against the Oklahoma Sooners, whom they already played in a non-conference format on Nov. 25, losing 77-70.
