Big 12 Football Standings 2012: West Virginia finishes in 8th place

The West Virginia Mountaineers finished eight in the final Big 12 standings, which were packed with nine bowl-bound teams.

The 2012 season finished with congestion in the middle of the Big 12 standings. The West Virginia Mountaineers are headed to a postseason bowl game despite finishing eighth in the conference. The Mountaineers are one of five teams to finish the season 7-5 overall and 4-5 in conference games.

The Kansas State Wildcats edged out the Oklahoma Sooners for the conference title and BCS berth. The Wildcats will face the equally high powered Oregon Ducks in the Fiesta Bowl, while Oklahoma is headed to the Cotton Bowl.

The only team in the Big 12 not to make a postseason bowl is the Kansas Jayhawks who finished 1-11 without a conference victory.
