Bracketology 2012: West Virginia Slides To No. 12 Seed In Latest Projections

The latest projections have West Virginia slipping to a No. 12 seed.

After a tough week for West Virginia that featured a blowout loss at the hands of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and a one-point loss to Marquette at home, the Mountaineers have slid down the latest bracketology boards. Two different experts project them to now be a No. 12 seed in the field of 68.

Joe Lunardi of ESPN.com has the Mountaineers suffering a very tough draw, as he would have them taking on the No. 5 seed in the Midwest Region, playing Florida State clear across the country in Portland, Oregon.

Chris Dobbertean of SB Nation also has West Virginia as a 12 seed, although with a much more generous location. Dobbertean has the Mountaineers taking on the No. 5 seed Temple Owls in the West Region. That game would be projected to be played in Nashville, Tennessee, a much more favorable location for Mountaineer fans looking to travel.
