NCAA Bracket 2012 And Schedule: Big East, Big Ten Battling For Conference Supremacy

The Big East and Big Ten Conferences have been the best in College basketball all year long, but without very much competition between them, it would be difficult to really say for sure who is the best. They have continued their dominance so far in the NCAA tournament with strong showings through the first two rounds. According to our Big East Coast Bias blog, the second weekend of the tournament will give the two conferences a chance to really find out who is better.

The Big East has four teams still in the NCAA tournament's Sweet 16, but so does the Big 10. Five Big East teams have been sent packing so far, while only two Big 10 teams have been ousted. So, which conference has more to boast about so far? To add to the intrigue, the conferences go head to head in three upcoming games: Syracuse vs. Wisconsin, Michigan St. vs. Louisville and Ohio St. vs. Cincinnati.

The Big East won a National Championship with the University of Connecticut last year, but some of their headliners had disappointing seasons, while Big Ten teams surprised with their dominance. The second weekend of the tournament will be the the best opportunity for one conference or the other to get bragging rights until next season.
