WVU Star Kevin Jones Wins Big East Player Of The Week

WVU basketball announces on its Facebook page that senior forward Kevin Jones has been named the Big East Player Of The Week.

Jones had 22 points and 16 rebounds in West Virginia's 92-75 win over DePaul on Tuesday. He also had 18 points (albeit on 6-of-18 shooting) and 11 boards in WVU's 50-44 win over a tough South Florida defense on Saturday. The South Florida win was huge, in that it ended up helping WVU to a first-round bye in the Big East Tournament, and in that it was on the road against a good team that itself was fighting for its seed in the conference tournament. (South Florida wound up sixth; had it won, it would have been fourth and earned a double-bye.)

Jones has been the Mountaineers' most consistent and best player this season, averaging 20 points and 11 rebounds per game.
