WVU hasn't even officially joined the Big 12 yet, but West Virginia athletic director Oliver Luck is already offering advice to the Mountaineers' new conference.
↵↵↵"My recommendation would be to look long and hard at moving up, whether it’s to 11 or 12, particularly when you look at how big the SEC is, how big the ACC is going to be, the number that the Big Ten and the Pac-12 are at," Luck told ESPN.com this week. "I think it would be wise to take a long hard look at that because there is some strength in numbers."

Including WVU and TCU, the Big 12 currently has 10 schools. Luck notes that one problem the Mountaineers' former conference, the Big East, had is that it shouldn't have stuck with only eight (football) teams, because it found itself in an untenable situation when Pitt and Syracuse decided to depart. If the Big 12 were to add another school, Louisville might get consideration.
