2012 NCAA Finals, Kentucky Vs. Kansas Score Update: Wildcats Dominate First Half, Lead 41-27

The Kentucky Wildcats entered Monday night's National Championship as heavy favorites and they lived up to the billing against the Kansas Jayhawks in the first half. UK played suffocating defense and held Kansas to just 33 percent from the floor. They gave up no easy buckets and cruised through the first half with a double-digit lead.

On the offensive end, Kentucky shot 53 percent from the floor to hand the Jayhawks their largest halftime deficit of the season. The Cats did it without getting a single point from Anthony Davis, either, as fellow freshman Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, who was quiet on Saturday against Louisville, took control early and finished with 11 points. Sophomore Doron Lamb added 12 points on just six shots. While Davis has not scored, he has already grabbed nine rebounds and blocked three shots, while altering several others.

Kansas will have to get some stops against the ultra-talented Wildcats if they're to have any chance in the second half.
