The West Virginia Mountaineers are on the rise in the college football rankings, as they check in at No. 7 in the Coaches Poll Top 25 for Week 4. WVU is at No. 8 in the AP Top 25.
There are six Big 12 teams making an appearance in the rankings this week. Oklahoma is at No. 5, with Texas making it three teams in the top ten, at No. 10. Kansas State 13th, TCU is 16th, and Oklahoma State rounds out the poll at No. 25.
The Mountaineers face all five of the other ranked teams in the next eight games. A far cry from the strength of their former conference, which features just one team in the rankings. Louisville is the lone Big East representative No. 18.
