Big 12 Football Standings 2012: West Virginia Among 7 Undefeated Teams

No. 9 West Virginia begins Big 12 play this week after a 3-0 non-conference start.

The West Virginia Mountaineers wrapped up non-conference play on Saturday and will now begin Big 12 play for the first time. The Mountaineeers are 3-0 and are up to No. 9 in the latest Associated Press poll, but will face a few more challenges as conference play begins.

West Virginia is one of seven remaining undefeated teams in the Big 12. Six of the 10 teams in the conference are ranked and only Kansas at 1-3 has a record below .500. TCU and Kansas State currently sit atop the conference standings with 1-0 records, after they beat Kansas and Oklahoma.

The early season has shown the Big 12 to be one of the best offensive conferences in the country. Through four weeks, six Big 12 teams are in the top 25 in terms of yards per game. West Virginia is among them, ranking 14th with 529 yards per game.
